6 days becomes 30 seconds.
Standard Elysium withdrawals wait out an optimistic challenge period, community-reported at about 6 days. CHARON fronts your HYPE on HyperEVM from its exit pool, takes assignment of your Elysium withdrawal, and settles when the window clears. The toll is 1%.
Pool status, straight from the contracts
Pool size, 24-hour crossings, and the average crossing time come from on-chain state on every refresh. Nothing is seeded.
You land now. CHARON waits out the river.
Four steps, two chains, one toll. Your part ends at step two.
Pay the obol
Deposit HYPE into the CHARON exit escrow on Elysium and name your HyperEVM address. The escrow records the crossing and the 1% toll.
The ferry fronts you
The exit pool on HyperEVM pays your HYPE, less the toll, to your address. Target: about 30 seconds; the measured average is live on-chain.
CHARON takes the slow road
The pool's confirmation reaches the escrow over Elysium's canonical messaging, and CHARON takes assignment of your standard withdrawal.
Settlement
When the challenge window clears, the withdrawal lands in the exit pool. The fronted HYPE returns and the toll stays with stakers.
Charon always took a coin. CHARON takes 1%.
Skipping the challenge period has a market price. Community-reported rates run about 3% at P2P desks and about 10% for community fast exits.

OTC and community rates are community-reported market rates, shown for context. They are not quotes, individual rates vary, and CHARON neither operates nor partners with those routes. Gas is extra on every route.
Every traveler pays the ferryman. Stakers keep the obol.
Stake HYPE into the exit pool and receive OBOL, a share of the pool. Every crossing's 1% toll stays in the pool and vests into the OBOL exchange rate. No emissions, no premine: OBOL exists only against staked HYPE.

Your deposit moves only on proof of payment
The escrow releases a crossing only when the exit pool contract itself confirms it paid your recipient the exact amount, delivered over Elysium's canonical messaging. There is no admin withdrawal.
Recipient, amount, and boarding time must match the crossing the escrow recorded.
Any unferried crossing comes back to you after a 1-hour reclaim delay, with no toll.
The exit pool caps each crossing and each hour's outflow, and a guardian can pause ferrying.
Questions at the riverbank
Why do standard Elysium exits wait?
Elysium is an optimistic rollup that settles to HyperEVM. Standard withdrawals wait out a challenge period, community-reported at about 6 days, so anyone can dispute the state Elysium posts. CHARON doesn't shorten that window. It waits it out in your place.
What does a crossing cost?
1% of the amount you cross, plus Elysium gas for your deposit. The toll is a constant in the escrow contract, and the app shows exactly what you'll receive before you sign.
What if I'm never ferried?
Request a reclaim on the escrow. After the 1-hour reclaim delay you withdraw your full deposit on Elysium, with no toll.
Where do stakers' returns come from?
Only from tolls. Every crossing pays 1%, the whole toll stays in the exit pool, and it vests into the OBOL exchange rate. Tolls follow crossing volume, which the site reports live.
